Our Winter meetings take place in the St Clements Church Hall in the central car park opposite the Dingwall Community Centre.


Wednesday 18th September: First indoor Winter meeting in St. Clements Church Hall 7.30pm (Car park opposite Dingwall Community Centre). The revised Honey Show notes will be distributed and a slide presentation will detail practical advice for the preparation of exhibits.

Tuesday 1st October: we are hosting the SBA touring speaker, Irene Power, who will speak on "Are you ready for Winter?" Strathpeffer Community Centre 7.30pm. We can expect a big turnout from neighbouring Beekeeping Associations.

Wednesday 16th October: Honey Show. Exhibits should be delivered in good time for a 7.30pm start. Entries will be judged by Willie Robson, Chain Bridge Honey Farm, who will have samples of his products available for sale.

Wednesday 20th November: "Beekeeping - My Methods & Experiments - a general talk on my beekeeping with a few unique tweaks tried out over the years." Alan Riach. 7.30pm

Recent events:

Saturday 7th September: Indoor honey extraction discussion, a variety of equipment will be available to view. It was a pity to be indoors on such a beautiful afternoon more suited to examining hives.  Fairfield Apiaries. 

Wednesday 24th July: Arthur Hill's at Fairfield Apiary. Once again an excellent "hands-on" experience with lots to discuss and learn from.

Saturday 6th June : a useful and informative meeting for absolute beginners who hadn't handled bees before. Not the best of conditions as the temperature was marginal.

Saturday 22nd June visit to Barbara Gray's apiary, Culbokie.

Saturday 15th June visit to Kay Liston's apiary at Lochcarron.

Saturday 18th May Beginners' Session at Fairfield Apiary.  A "theory" session due to the bad weather.

Wednesday 15th May at Pam Piercy's apiary at Findon Mills.

Saturday 11th May A very useful and enjoyable Beginners' Session at Arthur Hill's apiary at Fairfield, Orrin Bridge in perfect weather.

Wednesday 20th February Graeme Sharpe spoke to us on "My method of beekeeping."  As usual he had lots of useful tips.

Wednesday 21st November Willie Robson once again shared with us his wide experiences of beekeeping.

Wednesday 17th October  A well attended Honey Show judged by Hamish Robertson, Struan Apiaries. Unfortunately not many photographs were worth displaying.

Memberships are renewed as from the April AGM. A membership/ renewal form can be found mid-way down the Library page.

Guests are welcome and we ask for a £2 donation.
