Saturday 2nd - 10-30 to 2.30 - Lorraine Johnstone SRUC will be presenting topics of interest to beekeepers in and around Dingwall. Details available here.
Sunday 3rd - Lorraine Johnstone will present "The nuc method, an easy guide to control swarming. This will include how to use nucs to produce comb and make an increase and improve your honey yield." St Clements' Church Hall in Dingwall. 2pm

Wednesday 20th Elizabeth and Bryce Reynard will give a talk on 'Hive Products Beyond Honey' in the St Clements' Church Hall in Dingwall. 7.30pm
Wednesday 17th D&DBKA AGM St. Clements Church Hall Angie is planning another quiz to entertain us. We certainly learnt stuff at the last one and it was good fun!

Saturday 27th AGM of SBA - Spectrum Centre, Inverness Our Association and Inverness-shire will co-host the event at the Spectrum Centre in Inverness. The SBA AGM business will take place in the morning and we hope there will be up to 3 talks in the afternoon with something to interest all beekeepers. The Spectrum was chosen as the venue as it is located in the bus station, beside the railway station and car parks. More details to follow!

Wednesday 17th Ben Woodcock from the National Honey Monitoring Scheme (NHMS). 7.30pm. This was a Zoom meeting when Ben talked about the scheme and the residues which can be found in honey. Wednesday 6th December - Christmas Social with Bee(tle) Drive, Christmas punch and nibbles. An enjoyable evening for those that braved the weather conditions. Bill Fraser demonstrated his home-made bee-vac which generated plenty of discussion as did the items donated for Association funds. The Bee(tle) Drive was postponed until a future date.
Wednesday 15th November - Dr Stewart MacPherson gave a talk on "Allergy and Anaphylaxis". After refreshments Angie Dunn led a discussion on "Requeening methods" with members working in groups discussing the 4 proposed methods.
Wednesday 4th October - Honey Show 7.30pm St Clements Hall, Dingwall. The judge was Enid Brown. This turned out to be the most successful and well-supported Honey Show for many years.
Saturday 23rd September The Black Isle Food Festival 2pm - 7pm - Findon Hall, Culbokie - a celebration of local produce. The Association had a table at which members could sell their own honey to the public. This was a great opportunity to chat to folk and raise awareness of local honey and bees. Further details here.
Wednesday 13th September Fairfield Apiary, Orrin Bridge. 7.30pm An excellent double-act giving advice to inexperienced beekeepers on starting beekeeping with an economical approach. Topics covered were equipment and the processing of honey and wax.
